The Search Process
G&T Search has a systematic research process which leads to the delivery of a relevant and original shortlist:

The Brief

  • Hold a detailed briefing discussion with the stakeholders of the business to understand the main purpose of the role, principal accountabilities, career opportunity, background and context. We also discuss the ‘ideal’ candidate, including key attributes, personal attributes and leadership skills. This helps us to determine the candidate market, including target companies and geographical areas.

  • Produce a Position Brief, which will be the compelling marketing document from a personal career development, divisional opportunity and group perspective.  We discuss the content of this document further with the Client in order to take the correct message to the relevant market on their behalf

Research

  • Build comprehensive universe/long list from systematic and confidential coverage of the market by company, geography and product, thoroughly researching all individuals from a variety of sources.

  • For each new assignment we carry out original research and overlay this fresh research onto our existing market knowledge to produce a comprehensive 'universe' or long list of candidates within 10 to 15 working days.  Our research is well defined and lateral and the results made available to you with details of the potential candidates and short biographies.  We provide market comments on each of these individuals and any relevant market feedback, confidentiality permitting.

Delivery

  • Discrete identification and attraction of potential candidates internationally through the in-house research phase

  • High level of communication and transparency during the entire process: advising the Client throughout with weekly update reports

  • Interview preferred candidates twice, from both a competency and culture fit perspective

  • Deliver shortlist with in-depth candidate reports for each individual

  • Thorough referencing of the selected candidate

  • We manage candidates through the interview process, from monitoring and challenging their expectations including their resignation and exit.
